COVID-19 Guidance and Support
The government has confirmed that cases of a new variant (Omicron) has been found in the UK. As of Tuesday 30 November it will be compulsory to:
- Wear a face covering on public transport and in shops
- All international arrivals must take a Day 2 PCR test and self-isolate until they receive a negative result
- All contacts of suspected Omicron cases must self-isolate, regardless of their vaccination status. They will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace
These measures are temporary and precautionary and will be reviewed in three weeks. It is essential that you follow this guidance. You can view the full statement from the government online.
Maidstone Borough Council continues to work closely with Public Health England and other partners to respond to the changing restrictions and aims to support residents and businesses as much as we can through this difficult period. You can keep up to date with the latest information on Coronavirus on the government website or visit NHS UK for advice and information. More information for businesses can be found on our Coronavirus advice for businesses page.
