Other waste services

Assisted waste collections

Assisted collection requests are suspended as of Friday 8 March 2024 until Monday 8 April 2024. This is due to switching to our new waste provider.

If you are elderly, disabled and live alone and need help getting your rubbish and recycling out to the boundary of your property call 01622 602600.

The crew will endeavour to return the bin to the point of presentation, although 100% accuracy cannot be guaranteed, due to human error. Our list is reviewed regularly.

Small electricals, textiles and batteries

These must not be placed in the recycling or waste wheelie bins. These can be taken to the household recycling centre (tip).

Small electrical items

Local charities may take electrical items, however if they are unable to, you can take it to your local recycling centre.

Textiles

You can sell on a number of websites, take to charity shops or dispose of in a local textile bank.

Batteries

Batteries cause a considerable risk, they can cause fires which may harm to people and damage the vehicle. Suppliers and retailers of dry cell batteries will all accept them back for recycling.
