Roads in Marden in the Borough of Maidstone MARDEN GENERAL;

2 Objections received on the grounds that the proposals will directly harm local businesses who rely on customers being able to park nearby and conveniently. This is particularly so in relation to the elderly.

It is very dangerous in the present economic climate to hurt local businesses who are struggling to compete with town centres but above all with online shopping, local villages rely on nearby facilities which are convenient to pop out to buy limited amounts of goods and services.

We also received 1 letter of support.

A full summary of the consultation results are contained in Appendix B.

Recommendation: To recommend to the Joint Transportation Board not to proceed with the proposals for Pattenden Lane and West End as detailed above.
