Purpose of the External Board/Outside Body:

Liaison forum for KCC, MBC and bus operators.

Some key points: -

- The meeting covered the usual routine review items which included bus operation KPIs. It was noted that the national trend for bus usage continuing to decline 3% year on year. Locally to some extent this is reflected. The trend is masked particularly by the introduction of new services e.g. Twilight ticketing, however, the underlying trend is downwards.

- Of particular concern was the lack of known engagement with bus operators to utilise S106 bus encouragement measures, as was a lack of engagement concerning bus service provision to the three new schools to Vinters and the Medical Campus.
