The Museum Director introduced
the report and explained that moving from quarterly meetings to
annual meetings would better reflect the level of Committee
business. A further recommendation was made which would allow
income from the Trust Endowment to be transferred to the museum
budget to support with the costs of maintaining the
collection.
The Senior Finance Manager
confirmed that the rent paid to the Council to display the
collection was £1,500 per year, and the interest on the Trust
Endowment was £700 per year. It was queried whether the
assets would reduce in real terms, and it was clarified that it
would remain at £22,000.
In response to questions, the
Museum Director explained that the net cost of the collection could
not be accurately calculated as budgets for the QORWKR gallery and
the rest of the museum were not separated out.
RESOLVED: That
1.
Meetings of the board be reduced to one meeting per
year; and
2.
Any income from the Trust Endowment, over and above
that already paid for the rent on the gallery, be transferred to
the museum on an annual basis.
