RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on 11 March 2015 be agreed and signed as a correct record of the meeting by the Chairman.

The Committee considered the draft Overview and Scrutiny Annual Report. Typographies were highlighted by members of the Committee and minor amendments were made to the report.

Members considered the final section of the report entitled ‘The Future…?’ on page 18 of the document.  This section contained a column for the Chairmen of each Committee to include the most important themes identified by Overview and Scrutiny that remained relevant going forward under the new Committee structure.

The following themes were identified:

·  Maternity Services

·  The draft Economic Development Strategy

·  Careers Guidance review

·  The Local Plan

·  Continued representation from Maidstone Borough Council  Councillors on MKIP Joint Committees (post Overview and Scrutiny)

·  Budget Working Group

·  Loneliness and Isolation

·  MKIP Environment Health Shared Service

·  Play Areas Strategy

·  Crime and Disorder

RESOLVED: That the following themes be highlighted to the new Service Committees at the start of the new Municipal Year for their consideration as part of their Work Programming:

·  Maternity Services
