Item 17 - Still Acres, Longend Lane, Marden

Further comments by Parish Council:

“I have been asked by my Chairman to write to you all and express our views on the above application that the Development Manager Recommends: Application Permitted. In view of the very short notice no member of the Parish Council is able to attend. Barbara Grandi is chairing another meeting diarised some time ago.

If any of the copied Councillors are to attend would you kindly represent our views below. Would Committee Services ensure that this communication is presented before the Committee.

1. The Stills have been trying to build a home there for years and eventually were given permission, against PC wishes, to have a warden mobile home and caravan site. The warden mobile home subsequently became a large luxurious wooden chalet and there have been no touring caravan visitors evident in the caravan park over the past year.

2. They have constructed other buildings for shower rooms, waste plants etc., in this rural location.

3. They have laid access roads to the Warden chalet and caravan plots.

4. They are now asking to lay another road right through the fields to build a very large stable block, they have no horses of their own but are choosing to make further money from the land by letting out the stables and paddocks to horse owners.

5. There is no evidence that there is a need for either a caravan park or a stabling/livery business at this location and there are no safe bridle ways for horse riding in this area.”
