MAIDSTONE BOROUGH COUNCIL
COUNCIL
6 DECEMBER 2017
REPORT OF THE POLICY AND RESOURCES COMMITTEE 30 OCTOBER 2017
COUNCIL TAX REDUCTION SCHEME
Issue for Decision
On 30 October 2017 the Policy and Resources Committee resolved to amend the Council Tax Reduction scheme according to Option 1 outlined in the report (attached as Appendix 1 to this report).
Following the meeting, the Head of the Revenues and Benefits Shared Service has amended the Council Tax Support scheme, as requested by the Committee, and this amended scheme is attached as Appendix 2 to this report.
It is important to note that the Department for Work and Pensions has moved the live date for Maidstone Universal Credit to November 2018 rather than August 2018. Therefore the live date for the amended scheme, contained in Appendix 2 to this report, will be November 2018 rather than August 2018 as was referred to in the report to Policy and Resources Committee.
Recommendation Made
- That the amended
Council Tax Reduction Scheme, attached as Appendix 2 to this report, is
agreed.
- That the live date for the amended Council Tax Reduction Scheme of November 2018 is noted.
