Dear Sirs,

We would like to see the licence of the Hop Pole Inn, Maidstone Road, Nettlestead reinstated for the following reasons.

1)      The Hop Pole is extensively used by the community for community events.

a.       Christmas Sleigh

b.       Annual remembrance service for Pilot Officer Red Blumer whose spitfire crashed nearby.

c.       Local Warm Space initiative

                                                               i.      Warm Space for adults

ii.      Children’s warm space with activities for children

d.       Chatterbox social club for older residents of Nettlestead who meet once a month for a hot meal.

e.       Other village events such as the 80th Anniversary of D-Day

f.        Coronation event

2)      It is the only public house within walking distance of Nettlestead Green residents

As such we believe it is important to retain the Hop Pole as an important social asset for the community.
