CCTV
We can operate CCTV cameras for the following reasons:
- To prevent crime including Anti-Social Behaviour
- Improve public safety
- National security
For more information about how we use CCTV cameras take a look at our CCTV Operational Policy.
If you have been the victim of a crime, or it is a crime-related incident, you should report the matter to the Police. The Police can then make a request directly to us for any CCTV footage we may hold. In any allegations of crime, we will only provide footage to the Police.
If you have been involved in a road traffic incident (without Police involvement) you should contact your insurance company or solicitor, who can then request the footage from us under the Data Protection Act 2018.
To request CCTV footage of an incident you need to complete our online form. CCTV footage is only retained for 28 days, so all requests need to be submitted within this time.
If you are requesting your personal data on CCTV footage, please note that data protection legislation prevents us from disclosing details of any other party.
