Gambling licensing consultation
The Gambling Act 2005 requires that the Council review its Gambling Policy every three years. The current policy period ends on 31 January 2025.
As part of this process, we must consult with:
- Kent Police
- one or more persons who appear to the authority to represent the interests of persons carrying on gambling businesses in the authority’s area
- one or more persons who appear to the authority to represent the interests of persons who are likely to be affected by the exercise of the authority’s functions under the act
Summary of changes
Proposed changes are as follows:
- date and minor amendments
- removal of redundant information
- adding a section on problem gambling
- amending Gambling Commission address - appendix 3
- amending Betting premises machine category - appendix 6
- amending maximum stake for B2 machines - appendix 7
Consultation time frame
The consultation will run for four weeks from 16 September 2024 to 13 October 2024.
