There is a range of food support across our wards. You can find your closest service using the list below. You may need to be referred or book in advance to use some of these services.

Headcorn and Sutton Valence

Penny Kemp's Community Pantry, Headcorn

This is a community pantry, café, and hub for food and other support. Everyone is welcome to come and collect a bag of fresh and chilled food. The food is free, but the suggested donation is £3. You can also collect:

  • clothing for children
  • baby formula, nappies, and other items
  • hygiene products
  • toiletries and toothpaste
  • three pieces of meat for £5

The pantry runs on a ticket system. You can sit in the café area and enjoy free tea, coffee, and cakes until your bag is ready.

Maidstone Winter Shelter

Provides a daily sit-down hot meal at 7.15pm. This service is for those in temporary accommodation, without a home, or vulnerable. Registration is required at a daily drop-in at United Reform Church, next to Pandora in Fremlin Walk. You can register between 3.30pm and 5.15pm.

Location is confirmed on the day you register.

Making a Difference to Maidstone (MADM)

You must complete a referral to MADM to be eligible for this service. The food bank is open five days a week but is only accessible through an appointment. You must bring a list of items you need. Items include:

  • fresh, frozen and tinned food
  • cleaning products
  • dog food
  • baby food
  • toiletries
