URGENCY Notice

<AI1>

In accordance with Part 2, Regulation 5, of The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 the following decision is being taken within the 28 day period and the Chairman of the Cabinet Overview & Scrutiny Committee has agreed that the report is urgent and cannot be reasonably deferred for the reasons set out below:-

Decision Maker:

Cabinet

Date:

Wednesday, 17 December 2014

Key Issue:

Enterprise Hub

Summary of Decision:

Establishment of an Enterprise Hub in Maidstone

Open/Exempt:

E

Contact:

Karen Franek

karenfranek@maidstone.gov.uk

Reason for Exemption:

3

Reason why it is impractical to provide 28 clear days’ notice of the decision:

There is a need to open the Enterprise Hub as soon as possible given the positive impact such a facility could have on the start up and survival rates of new businesses.  There is also a logistical need to link the development of the hub to the timescales of the office accommodation project.  Given this a decision is needed urgently in order for the work programme to start in January 2015 at the latest.

Public Interest Test:

It is in the public interest that this report is taken in private because it contains commercially sensitive proposals.
