47. Apologies for Absence
An apology for absence was received from Councillor Yates.

50. Disclosures by Members and Officers
Councillor Grigg declared a prejudicial interest in Agenda Item 8 – Report of the Head of Democratic Services – Government Consultation Paper on Late Night Levy and Early Morning Restriction Orders and would leave the room when the report was to be discussed.

There were no disclosures of lobbying.

RESOLVED: That the Items on the Agenda be taken in public as proposed.
53. Minutes
RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the Meeting held on 21 November 2011 be approved as a correct record and signed.
54. Government Consultation Paper on Late Night Levy and Early Morning Restriction Orders
Councillor Grigg left the room.
The Committee considered the report of the Head of Democratic Services regarding a proposed response to the government consultation paper on the Late Night Levy and Early Morning Restriction Orders.
The Committee discussed each response in turn and were informed that the responses had been collated following consultation with the police, the Community Safety Unit and the Safer Maidstone Partnership.
RESOLVED: That the draft response, as attached at Appendix 2 to the report of the Head of Democratic Services, be approved for submission to the Government in response to the consultation paper on the Late Night Levy and Early Morning Restriction Orders.
