NOTICE OF SPECIAL URGENCY – MAIDSTONE AND THE LINK ENERGY SAVING |

Pursuant to the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012, Regulation 11.
Date of Notice: 26 January 2024.
Notice is hereby given that the Leader of the Council intends to make a key decision in respect of the matter outlined below.
The 28 days’ notice required by Regulation 9 of the above Regulations, alongside the rules for General Exemption under Regulation 10 of the above Regulations, are impracticable to be complied with for the reasons set out below. Therefore, notice is hereby given that the Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has agreed that the making of the decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred.

Description |
To seek approval for a project to carry out energy savings measures at Maidstone House and the Link. |
REASON THAT COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS 9 AND 10 IS IMPRACTICABLE
The Council’s application for funding is being actively considered and confirmation is required that the Council has approved the project as soon as possible. All other elements required for approval of the project are in place and delaying the application would seriously jeopardise the Council’s application.

I, the Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee have been consulted and agree that the making of the decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred.
