1. NOMINATIONS TO OUTSIDE BODIES
1.1 Issue for Decision
1.1.1 To consider nominations received for Outside Bodies.
1.2 Recommendation of the Head of Democratic Services
1.2.1 That the nominations set out in the report be considered by the Group.
1.3 Reasons for Recommendation
1.3.1 The nominations to Outside Bodies to be made are listed below and copies of the Nominations Forms received are attached at Appendix A.
1.3.2 The Cutbush and Corrall Charity
Mrs Jennifer Fenn has been one of the representatives of the above since 01 April 2007.
Vacancy: 1 x Committee Member
The term of office starts on 01 April 2011 for a period of 4 years.
A nomination has been received from Mrs Jennifer Fenn.
Recommended: That the Group make an appointment to the vacancy on the Cutbush and Corrall Charity.
1.3.3 Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Joint Advisory Council
Councillor Mrs Daphne Parvin has been the representative of the Council since 21 May 2010.
Vacancy: 1 x Committee Member
The term of office starts on 21 May 2011 for a period of 1 year.
A nomination has been received from Councillor Mrs Daphne Parvin.
Recommended: That the Group make an appointment to the vacancy on Kent Downs AONB Joint Advisory Committee.
1.3.4 Maidstone Area Arts Council
Councillors Dan Daley, Mrs Jenni Paterson and Mrs Fran Smith have been the representatives of the Council since 21 May 2010.
Vacancies: 3 x Committee Members
The term of office starts on 21 May for a period of 1 year.
Nominations have been received from Councillors Dan Daley, Mrs Jenni Paterson and Mrs Fran Smith.
Recommended: That the Group make appointments to the vacancies on Maidstone Area Arts Council.
1.3.5 Maidstone/Beauvais Twinning Association
Councillors Mrs Wendy Hinder, Patrick Sellar, Bryan Vizzard and Michael Yates have been representatives of the Council since 01 April 2010.
Vacancies: 4 x Committee Members
The term of office starts on 01 April 2011for a period of 1 year.
Nominations have been received from Councillors Wendy Hinder, Bryan Vizzard and Michael Yates.
Recommended: That the Group make appointments to the vacancies on Maidstone/Beauvais Twinning Association and further nominations be sought.
1.3.6 Maidstone YMCA
Councillors Michael Yates and Derek Mortimer have been representatives of the Council since 21 May 2010.
Vacancies: 2 x Committee Members
Nominations have been received from Councillors Derek Mortimer and Michael Yates.
Recommended: That the Group make appointments to the vacancies on Maidstone YMCA.
1.3.7 Mid Kent Downs Steering Group
Councillors Richard Ash and Mrs Daphne Parvin have been representatives of the Council since 21 May 2010.
Vacancies: 2 x Committee Members
The term of office starts on 21 May 2011 for a period of 1 year.
Nominations have been received from Councillors Richard Ash and Mrs Daphne Parvin.
Recommended: That the Group make appointments to the vacancies on the Mid Kent Downs Steering Group.
1.3.8 Tourism South East
Councillors Peter Parvin and Mrs Jenni Paterson have been the representatives of the Council since 21 May 2010.
Vacancies: 2 x Committee Members
The term of office starts on 21 May 2011 for a period of 1 year.
A nomination has been received from Councillor Mrs Jenni Paterson.
Recommended: That the Group make an appointment to the vacancies on Tourism South East and further nominations be sought.
1.3.8 Relate West and Mid Kent
Vacancy: 1 x Committee Member
The term of office starts immediately for a period of 2 years.
No nominations have been received.
Recommended: That nominations continue to be sought.
1.3.9 South East Employers
Vacancy: 1 x Substitute Committee Member
The term of office starts immediately to 28 October 2011.
No nominations have been received.
Recommended: That nominations continue to be sought.
1.4 Alternative Action and why not Recommended
1.4.1 The Group could decide not to appoint to Outside Bodies but this is not recommended as representation within the Community is an important role.
