1.           Cobtree Manor Park Master Plan Play Area Phase Two

 

1.1        Issue for Decision

 

To consider approving the design for the second and final phase of the play area at Cobtree Manor Park (subject to the granting of planning permission).

 

1.2        Recommendation of the Cobtree Officer

 

It is recommended;

 

1.2.1                   that the revised play area design as shown in Appendix A is approved by the Committee

 

and

 

1.2.2                   that officers be authorised to submit a planning application incorporating this design for the play area and with the objective of acquiring planning consent.

 

1.3        Reasons for Recommendation

 

1.3.1   The Committee resolved to approve the Master Plan Report of which this play area forms a key part. The play area design in Appendix A referred to in this report has been reviewed by officers and found to offer considerable improvements on the original design endorsed by the Committee.

 

1.4        Alternative Action and why not Recommended

 

1.4.1   The original design could be used instead however this is not recommended as it does not offer as much play value as this new design and the finance for this design has been approved by this Committee and in turn by the Charity Commission.

 

1.5        Impact on Corporate Objectives

 

1.5.1   None

 

1.6        Risk Management

 

1.6.1   The risks to the charity from this altered design are no different to the original design. The finances have been approved and all equipment will be installed according to the required safety standards and will be assessed by independent examiners prior to opening.
