NOTICE OF (POSSIBLE) PRIVATE MEETING AND SPECIAL URGENCY

 

Pursuant to the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012, Regulation 5. </AI17>

 

Date of Notice: 26 October 2022

 

Notice is hereby given that the Lead Member for Planning and Infrastructure, Maidstone Borough Council, intends to make a decision in respect of the matter outlined below. It is possible that the Lead Member may need to enter into closed session during the consideration of the item.

 

As less than the 28 days’ notice required by Regulations 5 of the above Regulations is impracticable to be complied with for the reasons set out below, notice is hereby given that the Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has agreed that the making of the decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred.

 

 

Draft Statements of Common Ground.

 

The draft Statements of Common Ground (SoCG) will be classified as exempt information and have been marked ‘to follow’ on the publicly available report. These include:

Expected Date of Decision: 2.30 p.m. Thursday 3 November 2022.

 

The meeting will begin at 2.30 p.m. or at the conclusion of the Planning and Infrastructure Policy Advisory Committee meeting, whichever is the later.

 

The SoCG contained with exempt appendices 2, 6 & 9 were approved by the Lead Member on 3 November 2022.

 

Any of the remaining SoCG that become available for approval across the period 21 November 2022 to 5 December 2022, will be considered and decided upon by the Lead Member for Planning and Infrastructure during that time.   

 

Classification

Public Report with Exempt Appendices by virtue of Paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972: Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person, including the authority holding that information.

Consultation

This matter will be considered by the Planning and Infrastructure Policy Advisory Committee at 2 p.m. on Thursday 3 November 2022.

Description

The draft Statements of Common Ground summarise the key strategic matters, including matters of agreement and disagreement between Maidstone Borough Council and the organisations listed on the previous page, regarding the Local Plan Review. There are two statements whereby the Council is a co-signatory.

REASON THAT COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATION 5 IS IMPRACTICABLE

 

The Planning Inspector for the Local Plan Review requires the Council to submit the signed Statements of Common Ground by Monday 7 November 2022.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

APPROVAL

 

I, the Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee have been consulted and agree that the making of the decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred.
