Salary

Annual leave
Our generous annual leave scheme starts at 22 days, not including bank holidays and includes an extra day at Christmas. Employees who want to benefit from longer periods of holiday can buy up to 5 days annual leave.
Occupational sick pay
If you are unwell or unable to attend work, the council operates a generous occupational sick pay scheme. We also provide flexible working for those with disabilities.
Professional fees
If you are required to be professionally qualified as part of your job, the council will pay for one professional fee per year.
Learning and development
We offer a range of development including professional development and education, management and leadership programmes, post entry training, vocational and technical training, secondments, E-Learning, coaching and mentoring.
Car benefit scheme
Maidstone Borough Council are pleased to announce an additional benefit for employees. We have collaborated with Tusker to provide a Car Benefit Scheme. As an employee benefit, you get to offset some of your salary before it gets taxed in exchange for a brand-new car.
The fixed monthly deduction from your salary includes all the running costs (apart from fuel) of your brand-new car. That includes insurance, all servicing, maintenance and repairs, replacement tyres and breakdown cover. So you never have to face a big garage bill again.
