Christmas trees
Our collections
Real Christmas trees can be recycled. Please remember to remove all tinsel, decorations and any pots or stands.
If you subscribe to our collections you can place your tree next to your garden bin and it will be collected with your normal collection. If you do not subscribe you'll need to take your real tree to Tovil or Allington tip.
If your artificial tree can still be used and you no longer want it you could take it to a local charity shop. Alternatively, you can take it to the tip.
Heart of Kent Hospice charity collections
Volunteers are collecting real trees in exchange for donations to the Heart of Kent Hospice. Collections will take place between Friday 9 January 2026 and Sunday 11 January 2026, from properties in Maidstone.
You can check if they can collect from your postcode or book a collection using their website.
Christmas trees can also be taken to their recycling point located at Lockmeadow.
