Bin collection changes

Some waste, recycling and garden collections have been delayed as it is taking longer for them to be carried out whilst the crews learn the new routes and get used to the different vehicles. We are working to improve with every fortnightly cycle, however, it will still take some time for collections to settle and for the situation to recover. We are very sorry to all residents affected by these delays and missed collections.

Nappies

Disposable nappies are not recyclable for disposal they must be bagged and put in the black waste bin.

Just one disposable nappy in one recycling bin, could lead to the whole lorry load of good recycling being rejected. As a result, collection crews will not empty any recycling bin that contains disposable nappies.

The bin will be left and emptied on the next cycle, provided that the contamination has been removed.

Reusable nappies

You could save money and reduce the amount waste by switching to reusable cloth nappies. Find out more on the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) website.

Reusable cloth nappies are available from all good local retailers and number of online businesses can help you make that change, give advice and stock specialist products.
