Most homes in the borough can have one black waste bin. If you have a second black bin and need us to collect it, you must tell us why. If you do not contact us, we will not empty the second bin.

Medical waste

You may be able to keep a second black bin if you or someone in your home has a medical condition that creates extra waste, such as:

• stoma bags
• incontinence pads
• catheter waste
• wound dressings
• other disposable medical items

We will review your case and email you with our decision within 10 working days. If we agree, we will collect both bins. If not, we will arrange to remove the second bin.

Some cases may be eligible for a larger bin. If this applies, we will let you know.
