Waste collection changes

Some waste, recycling and garden collections have been delayed as it is taking longer for them to be carried out whilst the crews learn the new routes and get used to the different vehicles. We are working to improve with every fortnightly cycle, however, it will still take some time for collections to settle and for the situation to recover. We are very sorry to all residents affected by these delays and missed collections.

Report a missed bin collection

If your rubbish, recycling, food or garden waste has not been collected, you can report it to us as a missed collection. If your bin was not collected there may be a reason.

Before you make a report

If your collection has not been completed on the normal day, it will be rescheduled for collection. This usually happens within a couple of days or over the weekend. Please check the current status of your collections to see when your bin is due to be emptied.

Unfortunately if your bin was missed but the rest of the road was completed, it is unlikely we will be able to return until your next scheduled collection.

Check that your bin was:

at the boundary of your property or normal collection point by 6am on your scheduled collection day
not too heavy or damaged, making it unsafe for our crew to lift
not contaminated with incorrect materials
presented in correct containers

You must report your missed collection within two working days. Sometimes your collection day may change, for example during bank holidays. Make sure to check your bin day on these days.

What happens next

After you have made your report we will send the report to our waste contractor. Please leave your bins in your normal collection place. We aim to collect your waste within two working days.
