Revaluation of business rates

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) has updated the value of all business properties in England and Wales. This is called a revaluation. The new values take effect from 1 April 2026. Find and check your business rates valuation.

Revaluation process

During revaluation, the VOA updates the rateable value of business properties so that the amount of business rates each business pays matches the current market. This helps to keep business rates fair for everyone. It does not raise extra money.

The VOA uses a range of property and rental information with other evidence to compare values across similar types of properties to set the rateable value.

Revaluation dates

The most recent revaluation came into effect on 1 April 2026, based on values from 1 April 2024.
