Community grant scheme
Local charities and community groups can apply for funding to help Maidstone residents and improve the town centre. We are looking to fund projects that provide activities, groups, and resources for everyone.
Eligible projects
Your project should aim to:
- bring residents, community groups and the town centre together
- encourage people to take part in activities and events
- build community pride and a sense of belonging
- reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing
Some examples of projects include:
- safe spaces and support groups for vulnerable people
- activities to bring people together and build confidence
- community cultural activities and workshops
- opportunities for young people
- women's safety initiatives
Who can apply
You can apply if you are a:
- not-for-profit company or a Community Interest Company (CIC)
- non-constituted group with your own bank account
- faith group (if the project is inclusive of all faiths)
- voluntary or community organisation
- registered charity
- constituted group
You cannot apply if you:
- do not support Maidstone town centre communities
- share profits with directors, shareholders, or members
- are a sole trader or an individual
- are based outside of the UK
We will only consider one application from each organisation.
How to apply
Your application must explain how your project will:
- bring people together and strengthen the community
- make a difference to the community and the people taking part
- build community resilience
- be delivered
You must also show us:
- how the impact and outcomes will be measured
- a breakdown of how the grant will be spent
- who will benefit from the project
If you are successful, you must give feedback on your project. This includes how many residents you helped and how you supported them.
Applications close on 16 August 2026.
What happens next
A member of the panel will look at all applications. We will email you within three weeks to let you know our decision.
