You said, we did

You Said We Did
You wanted better glass recycling We introduced doorstep glass recycling
You were fed up with traffic congestion in the town centre We worked with Kent County Council and partners to win funding to improve the bridge gyratory system
You wanted pubs to be good neighbours We introduced a voluntary noise management scheme for landlords
Local people should get priority on the housing list We added 'local connection' to our criteria for housing
There were too many empty homes in the borough We worked with owners and used incentives to bring more than 100 long-term empty homes back into use last year
You wanted more activities for young people in Shepway We introduced free weekly football, boxing and basketball lessons for 14-24 year olds at The Manor, Shepway Youth and Community Centre and installed a parkour on Shepway Green.
You wanted action on people parking on grass verges Additional signs have been put up around the borough advising motorists not to park on grass verges
You wanted action on issues with dog mess We launched our RK9 campaign which aims to encourage responsible dog ownership. Since December 2014 there's been more public engagement, leading to increased action against irresponsible dog owners. Follow the  RK9 Facebook page  for information, events and current legislation.
