Under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) you can request access to information. You can request any recorded information we hold, allowing you to find out more about what we do and how we make decisions. We have to provide information we already have in recorded form, we do not have to create new information.

When we have received your request

After we receive your request we will send you an acknowledgement and provide you with a reference number.  We will then respond to your request as soon as possible we aim to respond to all requests within 20 working days.

If your request is unclear, we will contact you to find out what information you are after. The 20 working day timeframe then begins from the date you provide this information.

Responses

In our response to your request we will tell you whether or not we hold the information. If we do hold it, we will either:

  • provide you with the information, in the format of your choice (where possible)
  • tell you that we have decided to withhold the information because an exemption or exception applies.
