Submit a FOI request


Under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) you can request access to information. You can request any recorded information we hold, allowing you to find out more about what we do and how we make decisions. We have to provide information we already have in recorded form, we do not have to create new information.

FOI and EIR can't be used to access your personal information. To find out more about requesting your personal information, please visit our Data Protection page.

Publication scheme

We publish a large amount of information on our website. Before making your request, please check if the information you're looking for has already been published in our publication scheme.

It may have been published in response to a previous Freedom of Information (FOI) or Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) request in our disclosure log.

The log contains previous requests we've received going back to January 2019, including the original request, what it was about and our response.

When we have received your request

After we receive your request we will send you an acknowledgement and provide you with a reference number.  We will then respond to your request as soon as possible we aim to respond to all requests within 20 working days.

If your request is unclear, we will contact you to find out what information you are after. The 20 working day timeframe then begins from the date you provide this information.

Responses

In our response to your request, we will tell you if we hold the information or not. If we do hold it, we will either:

  • provide you with the information, in the format of your choice (where possible)
  • tell you that we have decided to withhold the information because an exemption or exception applies.
