Update: |
|||
The Cadets regularly support the Mayor at his civic duties.
Our current Mayor (Cllr David Naghi) is also the Chairman of the Maidstone Sea Cadets.
A milestone in the history of the Maidstone Sea Cadets was finally reached on 7th July with the official opening of their own mooring pontoon on the River Medway, adjacent to their headquarters, T.S. Scott, situated at the Masters Tower, College Road, Maidstone. This enables a significant enhancement to their activities, as they can now take to the water directly from their base. About 100 guests attended the event. Grateful thanks are owed to former Mayor, Cllr Malcolm Greer, who provided a significant amount towards the cost of completion of the mooring, both by raising funds, and by payment in kind via long-standing business colleagues and friends. Additional funding has been ongoing by the cadets and staff of the unit.
Earlier this year the unit strength was 27 cadets, 6 uniformed officers and 6 civilian staff/management team. |
