Hi Lorraine

Thanks for your email and your offer to mediate. I have highlighted my concerns and objection to the club but haven’t received any response.

In relation to the changes sought I would suggest the following by way of compromise:

Films – It is unclear why they would want to show films from 8am so would suggest this be limited to the same timings as the current live music (18:00 to 23:00) Monday – Sundays. The number of outdoor films events should be limited in number (to say 5 occasions a year).

Live Music – no justification has been provided as to why they would want to play live music from 11:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. It should be retained as existing.

Recorded Music – As above why from 09:00? Should be limited to 18:00 to 23:00 as existing.

Supply of Alcohol – I don’t have a problem with the additional hours on a Saturday.

Opening Hours – Bringing the opening hours forward to 08:00 is too early. 9 o’clock would be acceptable.

I attach an updated schedule with my suggested changes for clarity.

I know it isn’t relevant to the licencing application but I would be grateful if you could reiterate to the applicant that their planning conditions control the hours of operation on the site (not the licence). Therefore even if the licence is granted, they will still be bound by the planning permission so wouldn’t be able to operate before 09:00 and after 23:00 each day.

In the interim I hope the above/attached is helpful.

Regards

Paul
