Decision Maker: Cabinet.,
Decision status: Recommendations approved
Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To
consider minor amendments to the Mid Kent Joint Waste Contract
(MKJWC) documents in accordance with the delegated authority given
in the decision by Cabinet in October 2012.
Decision:
That
minor changes to the MKJWC Inter Agency and Joint Working
Agreements to reflect the final arrangements between the partners
be accepted.
Reasons for the decision:
In
October 2012 Cabinet agreed to award the tender for the mid Kent
joint waste contract for refuse and recycling in the three boroughs
of Ashford, Maidstone and Swale. Cabinet also agreed the Inter
Agency Agreement and Joint Working Agreement between the three
councils. However it was recognised that as the arrangements become
finalised some minor changes would be necessary. Delegated
authority was given to the Assistant Director of Environment and
Regulatory Services to make the necessary changes. The changes
involved confirming the final bin delivery arrangements and other
operational matters. These have now been done and the final
documents will be signed by all partners, including Kent County
Council.
Alternative options considered:
It would be possible
to ignore the proposed changes; however the documents would not
reflect the preferred arrangements for the partners which may make
the administration of the contract more difficult
