The Shadow Maidstone Town Council helps get the new council ready for when it starts in May 2027. Its role includes:

• arranging the transfer of allotments and other assets
• preparing the new council to begin work
• planning the council's budget

The Shadow Town Council cannot make final decisions. The new Maidstone Town Council will review and approve decisions when it is established.
