If you are renting a property in our area or joining a household and will be wholly or jointly responsible for the Council Tax bill you need to let us know. This may be relevant if you are moving into a property where someone else is already on the Council Tax bill and you need to be added.

We will need to know:

• the date you are moving or have moved
• your new address and old address if it is in our area

What happens next

Once we’ve been notified of a move, we aim to process your request within 20 working days. Your account will be adjusted, and you will be issued with an amended bill, which will show your new or closing balance.

If you are moving from a property in our area, any payments you make by Direct Debit will be either refunded, transferred to your new bill, or you will need to complete our refund form.
