If you are finding it hard to pay Council Tax debt, we may be able to help you pay it back over a longer time. We can help if you:

• are struggling to pay this year's Council Tax
• owe money for past years' Council Tax
• can offer to pay a fair amount towards what you owe

We will look at how much money you have and set up a payment plan. If there is still money left to pay at the end, we will add it to your last payment.

If your unpaid Council Tax has already gone to court, you cannot use this form. If you need help, phone our team using the number below.

How to apply

Before you start, contact our Council Tax team. If we agree that a plan is needed, you will be asked to complete this form. You can phone 01622 602 003 to discuss your options.

You might also be asked to fill it in if the amount you offered to pay is too low or does not match what you can afford.

What you need to tell us

We need to know your:

• employment details
• income from work, benefits, and pensions
• spending, saving, and investment details
• address and the address that Council Tax is owed
• account number

You will also be asked to provide bank statements and details about any court hearings.

What happens next

We will look at your answers and phone you within ten working days. We can only accept fair offers and match what you can afford. If your offer is not realistic, we will not accept it.

You still need to keep making your Council Tax payments whilst we look at your application.
