Repairs
We are committed to keeping your home safe, secure and in good repair. If you need to report a repair, please get in touch with us as soon as possible and provide as much detail as you can about the issue.
You can report a repair by emailing our repairs team at housingrepairs@maidstone.gov.uk.
Where a repair falls into the emergency category, please also call the accommodation team on 01622 602525.
When reporting a repair, please tell us:
- your name and address
- a detailed description of the problem, where possible
- when the issue started
- any photographs, where possible
Response times
Emergency - 1 working day
These are repairs that present an immediate risk to health, safety, or property, for example:
- major water leaks or flooding
- dangerous electrical faults
- no heating or hot water during cold weather where vulnerable residents are affected
- insecure external doors or windows
- serious structural damage
- alarm faulty
- complete loss of power and electricity
Urgent - 5 working days
These are repairs that cause significant inconvenience but do not pose an immediate danger, for example:
- partial loss of power
- minor plumbing leaks
- faulty heating where alternative arrangements are available
- blocked sinks, baths, or toilets (where another toilet is available)
Routine - 20 working days
These are non-urgent repairs that do not affect safety or cause major inconvenience, for example:
- dripping taps
- fence or gate repairs
- minor repairs to internal joinery
- general maintenance issues
