Completion certificates

Find an application

You can search for current and old application (approved or received before October 2023) details using our application search. There will not be lots of information as our applications are private and confidential. You can also use the search to check that work has an application submitted.

Copies of completion certificates

If you cannot find the completion certificate or are unable to download or print this yourself, you can request a copy using our form which will cost £50.

You cannot use this form if an application for work has been carried out:

  • under the Competent Person Scheme or through a private building control body, as this would have been issued by the persons carrying out the work
  • more than 15 years ago. We have a document retention policy of 15 years, we will not hold copies of the completion certificates prior to this time

If your application was received and validated after 1 October 2023, and your project commenced and was inspected before 6 April 2024, you must contact building control to request a notice of completion form. Complete, sign, and return this form to receive your completion certificate. To request the form, please contact our admin team at 01622 602701.

We will need:

  • the address of the property
  • building work the request relates to
  • roughly when the work was carried out


What happens next

Your request will be sent to the Building Control team who will aim to respond within five working days. Your completion certificate will then be sent over.
