Find an application

You can search for current and old application details using our application search. Information will be limited because our applications are private and confidential. You can also use the search to check that work has an application submitted.

Copies of completion certificates

If you cannot find the completion certificate or are unable to download or print this yourself, you can request a copy using our form, which will cost £70.

You cannot use this form if an application for work has been carried out:

  • under the Competent Person Scheme, for example, GASAFE, HETAS, or FENSA, because you need to contact them directly
  • through a registered building control approver (RBCA), the INIT suffix relates to this type of application
  • more than 15 years ago. We have a document retention policy of 15 years. We will not hold copies of the completion certificates before this time.

If your project started after 6 April 2024, you must complete a notice of completion form. The applicant, builder, and agent need to sign and return this form to receive your completion certificate. To request the form, please phone our admin team on 01622 602 701.

We will need:

  • the address of the property
  • building work the request relates to
  • roughly when the work was carried out

Your request will be sent to the Building Control team, who will aim to respond within ten working days.
