Work on a protected tree
You must ask us before you do any work on a protected tree. We need to know:
- the address of the tree or a what3words location
- what the species of tree is
- if you have any photographs
You can use the Woodland Trust tree guide to work out the species of a tree. The tree identification app can help you identify a tree from a photograph.
What happens next
We will look at your report within seven working days. We may visit the site to assess the health, structure, and condition of the tree. Landowners may be asked to carry out the work if it is needed.
