Pavement licence to place tables, chairs and other furniture on public pavements
You will need a pavement licence from us to place street furniture, such as tables and chairs, on a public pavement.We have taken temporary responsibility from Kent County Council (KCC) for issuing these permits. A licence will run for a minimum of three months up to 30 September 2021.
You can put tables and chairs on your own land and on someone else’s land without a license but you will need permission from the landowner.
Making an application

Your application should comply with the pavement licence conditions.
The licence costs £100 and you'll need to add your plans with your application.
