In partnership with Maidstone Leisure Trust, we are offering a free hire of Mote Hall at Maidstone Leisure Centre to two community groups or charities in the borough during 2026/2027.

The free let only covers the hire cost for Mote Hall. Additional costs for staffing, set up and down, equipment, lighting, sound and other costs will still be chargeable.

Who can apply

Local community groups and charities with an event coming up between 1 April 2026 and 31 March 2027 are invited to apply by midnight on 1 February 2026.

Priority will be given to those groups who fall into any of the following categories:

• sporting or cultural events
• events which are unlikely to go ahead without the free hire
• organisations that benefit borough residents
• non-profit events
• events which support young people and other target groups
• organisations which have not previously been granted a free hire

Applications

Organisations should contact the Programme Manager at Maidstone Leisure Centre, Carla Still, before submitting their application to ensure the days and times they wish to secure are available. Email carla.miles@serco.com or phone 01622 220 232.

As part of the application process, applicants must prepare and produce an income and expenditure analysis for the event. This should be emailed directly to stevehorton@maidstone.gov.uk before 9 February 2026.

Successful applicants must make their risk assessment available to the leisure centre at least two weeks before their event.

Applications close at midnight 1 February 2026, and successful applicants will be notified the week beginning 9 February 2025.
