1.  That Maidstone Borough Council adopt the “Model Standards 2008 for Caravan Sites in England” as the basis for setting conditions of Caravan Site Licences issued under Section 5 of the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960 as amended.

2.  That Maidstone Borough Council adopts the Standards, as set out in Appendix 1 and Appendix 3 to the Report of the Assistant Director of Environmental Services, as the basis of the conditions to be imposed replacing the 1989 Model Standards, as set out in Appendix 2 and 4 to the Report of the Assistant Director of Environmental Services. 

1.  That the objectives, activities and the staff time required to achieve a Level 3 assessment for the National Indicator 188 “Planning to adapt to climate change” by end of March 2011 be agreed. The key steps are described in the Kent-wide Delivery Plan for NI 188 (Appendix A to the Report of the Assistant Director of Development and Community Strategy). It is based on climate change adaptation guidance from the Local and Regional Partnership Board (LRAP)[i] and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)[ii] published in April 2009.

2.  That it is recommended to the Council to re-assert its commitment to the Nottingham Declaration (Appendix B to the Report of the Assistant Director of Development and Community Strategy), as a public statement of the council’s commitment to adapt to climate change.
