RESOLVED: That the items on the agenda be taken in public as proposed.
21. Minutes of the Meeting Held on 19 June 2014
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on 19 June 2014 be approved as a correct record and signed.
22. Adjournment of Meeting
The meeting was adjourned until after the conclusion of
Agenda Item 8 of the Licensing Act 2003 Committee Meeting and to allow for the
Head of Communities and Housing to introduce his report on the future role of
the Licensing Committee 2003 and Licensing Committee to both Committees and for
Members to raise any questions.
23. Future Role of the Licensing Committee
The meeting reopened after the discussion and it was
proposed by Councillor Brian Mortimer and seconded by Councillor Powell that it
be:
RESOLVED to RECOMMEND to Council that:
(a) it agrees to combine the Licensing Act 2003 Committee and the
Licensing Committee into one functioning committee called the
Licensing Committee;
(b) that the size of the new Committee be set at 12 Members to allow
for cross party representation if possible; and
(c) it delegates all permitted licensing functions to
the new Licensing
Committee.
