The above legislation requires every local authority to carry out a review if a change of polling station is deemed necessary.

 

Maidstone council’s review of Fant Ward (East) started on 5 May 2016 and various individuals and groups, including ward and county councillors, have been consulted on the current arrangements and the proposals for change. Comments by the (Acting) Returning Officer on the proposed changes are available on the council’s website and at Maidstone Reception Unit 326 Dukes walk, The Mall King Street Maidstone ME15 6AS. The change only affects one ward.

 

Comments are invited from electors and other interested parties, including people or organisations with a particular interest or expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for those with different forms of disability. Comments can be made on:

 

·         any aspect of polling districts and/or polling places currently used;

·         any representations made by the (Acting) Returning Officer; and/or

·         polling station premises.
