<div>I fully support the proposal of the Acting Returning Officer after the first consultation period. 48 positive responses out of 81 - well over 50% of those who responded, were in favour demonstrating there is popular support for the idea from those who

are affected most, the people who vote in the Polling District.&nbsp;</div>

<div>I shall address the points made against the idea in turn:</div>

<div>1) The idea that the hotel doesn't offer safe access for tellers or voters is not valid. As mentioned, the walk from the car park to the place of polling is one which guests at the hotel regularly use, and in terms of access for tellers there is a clear

lobby area for them to operate - again, as summarised in the 1st consultation feedback.&nbsp;</div>

<div>2) There are instances where Public Houses are used as Polling Stations, such as The Wheatsheaf in Bough Beech in Sevenoaks District (AI Polling District) so the argument that a Hotel is not an appropriate venue is not valid. There were no problems when

this polling station was used in the September 2015 by-election as a one off.&nbsp;</div>

<div>3) Precedent has been set elsewhere for the most appropriate location for a polling station to be the best venue, rather than most central. Indeed for residents in the Milton Street, Whitmore Street area it is closer for them than St Michaels School.&nbsp;</div>

<div>4) In terms of St Michaels Church Hall, car parking would be an issue here as would accessibility. Having said that, if the request is denied this is a none starter.&nbsp;</div>

<div>Finally, I continue to support the idea of a new polling district in the Maidstone West vicinity but appreciate this is not part of this review. However this must remain on MBC's radar actively over coming months with additional developments planned.&nbsp;</div>
