MAIDSTONE BOROUGH COUNCIL

COUNCIL

22 DECEMBER 2010

REPORT OF THE HEAD OF CHANGE AND SCRUTINY

Report prepared by Janet Barnes

1.       URGENT DECISIONS TAKEN BY THE EXECUTIVE

1.1     CABINET MEMBER FOR REGENERATION

1.1.1  The Cabinet Member for Regeneration agreed on 17 September 2010 that the decision set out below was urgent and needed to be actioned within the call-in period. The reason for urgency was because the site list had to be submitted to the HCA by 22 September for onward submission to Central Government.  In accordance with the Constitution’s Overview and Scrutiny Procedure Rules , the Mayor, in consultation with the Head of Paid Service and the Chairman of the Regeneration and Sustainable Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee, agreed that the decision was reasonable in all the circumstances and should be treated as a matter of urgency and not be subject to call-in.

1.1.2  Local Investment Plan (Single Conversation with Homes and Communities Agency (“HCA”))

To agree the list of schemes and projects that the Council should seek funding for, from the HCA, through the Government’s Comprehensive Spending Review.

1.1.3 Decision Made

That the schedule of sites and programmes, as set out at Appendix B of the report of the Assistant Director of Regeneration and Cultural Services, be adopted for submission to the HCA.
