Review of the Year 2013/2014

1.      Introduction

1.1        Overview and Scrutiny Committees may report annually to the full Council on their workings and make recommendations for future work programmes and amended working methods if appropriate.

1.2        The draft review of the year for the Economic and Commercial Development Overview and Scrutiny Committee for 2013/2014 can be found in Appendix A.

1.3        This will be used be the Scrutiny Coordinating Committee when they compile the Scrutiny Annual Report for 2013/14.

1.4        Completed SCRAIPs for the year can be found in Appendix B.

2.      Recommendation

2.1     The Committee is recommended to consider the draft review of the year and make comments accordingly.

3.      Impact on Corporate Objectives

3.1     The Committee will consider reports that deliver against the     following Council priority:

·         ‘For Maidstone to have a growing economy.’

3.2     The Strategic Plan sets the Council’s key objectives for the medium   term and has a range of objectives which support the delivery of         the Council’s priorities.  Actions to deliver these key objectives may      therefore include work that the Committee will consider over the       next year.
