The Head of Finance and Resources, Paul Riley,
introduced the report which discussed the setting of the level of
fees and charges for 2015/16, and the impact of the proposed fees
and charges on the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy.
It was explained that the Council adopted a Corporate Fees and
Charges Policy in May 2009 covering charges for services where the
Council raised income by charging the user of the service and where
the setting of the fee or charge was discretionary. The Policy did
not apply to services where the Council was prohibited from
charging, such as collection of household waste, or services where
the change is currently determined by Central Government such as
planning application fees. The Cabinet had agreed the fees and
charges for 2015/16 totalling an additional £76,300.
A Member asked whether there was income
generated from taking photographs of artefacts in the Museum, and
was advised by the Head of Finance and Resources that this would be
looked into and an answer provided outside of the Committee.
RESOLVED:
1.
That the report be noted.
2.
That the Head of Finance and Resources be requested to ascertain
whether income was generated through photography of artefacts in
the Museum and for this information to be circulated to the
Committee.
