Report a missed bin collection

You can tell us if we missed your recycling, general waste, garden waste or food bin. Missed bins must be reported within 48 hours of your collection day.

If you have reported it, we will aim to collect your bin within two working days. If it is not reported, we will collect it on the next collection day for that bin. This is normally a 14-day cycle. Food bins are collected weekly.

The bin crew may mix recycling and rubbish in a missed bin collection. If you want to keep it separate, please wait for your next normal collection instead of reporting it.

Before you make a report

Check that your bin was:

  • at the boundary of your property or normal collection point by 6am on your collection day
  • not too heavy, damaged, or unsafe for our crew to lift
  • not contaminated with the wrong items
  • presented in the correct containers

Sometimes your collection day may change, for example, during bank holidays.

What happens next

Your report will be sent to our waste contractor. We will aim to collect your bin from your usual collection point within two working days.

Blocked roads

If we have not collected your bins because we were unable to access your road, we will collect your extra waste on your next collection.

For general waste, we will collect up to five black sacks. Recycling can be placed in a container, such as a cardboard box. Additional garden or food waste will not be collected.
