Our service

Building regulations are compulsory safety standards for design, construction and alterations of buildings and we check work to make sure it complies with the Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act and other legislation and guidance.

Building control is different to planning permission and you may need both for your project

Our team provides an independent, publicly accountable and competitively priced service to help you meet these regulations. We will give you practical feedback on your plans and offer regular site inspections.

When you need building control

It depends on the project but for most major construction projects in your home, such as extensions and conversions, you'll need to make an application so we can visit the site and check your work is compliant.

Find more information about when you need building control on the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) website.

Any work relating to commercial premises and building(s) containing two or more dwellings/flats will usually require building control. If you’re not sure, please contact us.

LABC Partner Authority Scheme

Our building control service offer agents, developers and contractors the opportunity to work with us on all building control applications regardless of the location in England.

There is no contract or fee to become a LABC Partner and the benefit is you will be assigned your own surveyor which will give a consistent approach to the building regulations and ongoing advice when you need it.

You can find out more at LABC Partner Scheme or call us on 01622 602701.
