Waste collection changes

Some waste, recycling and garden collections have been delayed as it is taking longer for them to be carried out whilst the crews learn the new routes and get used to the different vehicles. We are working to improve with every fortnightly cycle, however, it will still take some time for collections to settle and for the situation to recover. We are very sorry to all residents affected by these delays and missed collections.

Excess waste

Collection crews will not collect excess household waste that does not fit into your bin.

Excess or side waste is any additional waste put out for collection next to or on top of your wheeled bin. This includes overflowing or extra bagged, boxed or garden waste that doesn't fit in your bin.

Any excess recycling that does not fit in your bin can be placed next to your recycling bin in a suitably contained cardboard box. Recycling should not be put in plastic sacks.

Additional waste bins

You can buy additional recycling bins if required and these will all be emptied as long as they do not contain business waste or contaminated recycling. However we will only empty one black rubbish bin from each property and do not accept waste left beside it.

If you have excess household or garden waste that cannot fit into your bin you can bag it and take it to any household recycling centre. You could also:

request a bulky waste collection
see if you can recycle more
use public recycling banks
